IN CONJUNCTION with the holy month of Ramadhan, the Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for its committee members and MKM volunteers yesterday at the private residence of one of the MKM Board of Trustees in Kampong Sungai Buloh.
Around 34 MKM members joined the religious event.
According to Datin Hajah Kamisah binti Haji Rahmat, event chairperson, the annual event was held to further enliven the holy fasting month.
Also present were Datin Paduka Hajah Intan binti Haji Mohd Kassim, the President of the council, as well as executive members of the MKM.
The event continued with iftar and mass Maghrib prayer.

The council expressed that it hopes to continue such activities in the years to come and will welcome those willing to help.
For the month of Ramadhan, the council has organised several charity activities including food drives, charity drives and iftar with families listed under the MKM as those in need.
The council added that the generosity being shown has helped those in need by providing aid for the upcoming festive season.
