THE Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) and the departments under it yesterday held a ceremony to celebrate Nuzul Al-Quran and a presentation of donations to orphans of the ministry’s staff.
Attending as guest of honour was Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong.
Also present were Permanent Secretary at the MPRT Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Tourism) at the MPRT Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, heads of departments, officers and staff members.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran by Mohammad Reza Khoramian, a Qari from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The event was then further enlivened with a special religious talk delivered by Ustaz Haji Anwari bin Haji Rawee, invited speaker from the Islamic Da’wah Centre.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of donations to 30 orphans of the staff working in the MPRT and departments under it.
This year, the event was co-hosted by the Department of Fisheries, Agrifood Safety Division as well as the Administration and Finance Division under the ministry.
