The festivities commenced with the singing of the national anthem, followed by three loud cries of “Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik!” (Long Live His Majesty). This was then followed with a pledge of loyalty read by Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, the Acting Tutong District Officer.

In his speech, the Acting Tutong District Officer expressed gratitude for His Majesty’s visit to Tutong District, which is a much-anticipated occasion for the residents of Tutong District to meet His Majesty the Sultan in person.

His Majesty and members of the royal family were then ushered to the royal dais watch a special performance which carried the theme of “Raja Perkasa, Negara Berjaya, Rakyat Sejahtera”.

Around 460 participants took to the field for the special performance, including the various ethnic groups of Tutong District, and secondary school students.

The 15-minute performance, which was divided into four segments, flowed smoothly around the concept of religious values to reflect the elevation of the Islamic faith to a stately position in Brunei Darussalam, by His Majesty the Sultan.

After going around the field to greet thousands of people, of whom some took the opportunity to present “Pesembah” (royal gifts) and take photos, His Majesty then proceeded to the Civic Complex for a short rest and for a cake-cutting ceremony.
