TWELVE post-graduate students of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) recently attended the Socio-Academic Laboratory programme (MASA) held at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) from July 12-22.
The students’ participation was a follow-up to the MoU signed between UNISSA and the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV) of USM, which focussed on social services, introducing the two nations and the mobility of students academically.
The MASA is a follow-up to the reciprocal visit by ISDEV to UNISSA in July and August last year. The UNISSA delegation was led by Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad, from the Faculty of Arabic Language and Islamic Civilisation, and Dr Hajah Rasinah binti Haji Ahim, Director of the Post Graduate Centre. They were welcomed by Professor Syukri Salleh, Director of ISDEV, and other officers.
The UNISSA students were engaged in various programmes such as writing workshops, research design, data collection and analysis, colloquium, knowledge discussion, and writing consultation. They were able to learn more about academic writing method, which is beneficial for dissertation writing and their thesis.
The group was also involved in a social service programme organising praying activities at the BAKTI welfare house.
