THE Brunei Darussalam Association of Singers, Dancers and Musicians (3P NBD) was established on November 11, 1987 with the aim of uniting arts enthusiasts in the country in their relevant fields and to inspire creativity in music and other art forms.
At the same time, it hopes to provide a platform to strengthen ties among local arts enthusiasts.
Speaking to the Bulletin, 3P NBD Vice-President Zulkifli Butir @ Zolkflee noted that the small driving force behind the association does little to hinder efforts to spread its wings and achieve its purpose.
Having too many people would lead to conflicts and misunderstandings, he believes.
“What is important is not the numbers, but to think positively, productively and systematically. It would be pointless to do something in haste without thinking from all angles and without appropriate paperwork,” the vice-president added.
Since its establishment, the association has faced numerous challenges in its efforts to expand and organise activities. Yet, these were handled appropriately and with strength, patience and positive thinking, he explained, before adding that opportunities lie everywhere and are not limited to local involvement or engagement, but also from abroad.

He extended gratitude to the relevant authorities for their support and encouragement over the years.
He also pointed out that what is also important is to remember your true self, be considerate in all aspects, and avoid unnecessary debate without the desire to move forward and develop as it will only be a waste of time.
We must also make a habit of thinking out of the box, as an association is not a battlefield to gain positions, satisfaction or be biased, he said.
Meanwhile, at the recent 3P NBD General Meeting held in October, the association confirmed the appointments of its committee members, including his appointment as vice president, and Hajah Saadiah binti Haji Ghazali as president.
Other confirmed appointments included Major (Rtd) Haji Manaf bin Haji Kamis (Advisor General), Haji Hashim bin Haji Abdul Wahab (Deputy Advisor General), Faridah binti Haji Ibrahim (Secretary General), Hajah Hajidah binti Haji Abdul Wahab (Treasurer General) and Hajah Mal Hafizah binti Haji Abd Malek (Deputy Treasurer General).
3P NBD welcomes local arts enthusiasts to become members of the association, doing so by registering by means of membership forms or direct contact to either the president or vice president.
“God willing, the association is currently planning several activities such as workshops, courses, forum and discussion sessions, overseas educational visit trips and so forth,” the vice president added.
