TWO delegates from the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) recently attended the 7th Regional Asia-Pacific University- Community Engagement Network (APUCEN) Council Meeting, in Gold Coast, Australia.
KUPU SB was represented by Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Deputy Ra’es and head of the delegation; and Cikgu Ali Hardi bin Haji Mohamed, Lecturer and Public Relations Officer of KUPU SB – APUCEN.
KUPU SB was officially appointed as a council member of APUCEN earlier this year.
APUCEN has a membership of 72 universities around the Asia-Pacific.
There are currently 13 universities appointed as council members including KUPU SB.
The President of APUCEN is Professor Dato ‘Omar Osman from Universiti Sains Malaysia; while its vice-president is Dr Takeshi Matsuda from the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies.
APUCEN was established with the aim of promoting and instilling community-based concepts and values among the members.
Also the community could unite in establishing cooperation, creating capacity development for university-community partnerships; disseminating and sharing information, knowledge, resources and good practices; and providing a platform for joint flagship projects.
