TO REWARD the athletes who participated in the 30th Inter-Branch Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Athletic Games 2015, a prize presentation ceremony was held last night at the Officers Mess Banquet, RBPF Headquarters, Gadong.
The guest of honour at the event was Dato Paduka Seri Haji Bahrin bin Mohd Noor, Commissioner of Police. His spouse was also present at the ceremony.
The event began with the welcoming remarks by Senior Supt Pengiran Haji Muhammad bin Pengiran Haji Metali, Committee Chairman of the RBPF Sports Council followed by the prize distribution by the commissioner.
Branch ‘B’ emerged as champions with 15 gold, 11 silver, and five bronze medals. In second place was Branch ‘A’ with 11 gold, 10 silver and eight bronze, while Branch ‘D’ came in third place with three gold, nine silver and six bronze.
Cpl 4307 Michael anak Angah from Branch ‘B’, broke the police record in javelin throw with a distance of 50.59m, while female recruit 6349 Norfazliana binti Mustapa broke the record in 1,500m race with a time of 6:45.20.

The award for Best Formation was won by Branch ‘A’, followed by Branch ‘B’ in second place. The event was also enlivened by musical performances by all the RBPF branches.
Also present during the event were the director and deputy director of the RBPF; district commanding officers; heads of formations and units as well as lower ranking officers and staff of RBPF.
