DIGITAL tyre inflators are set to be installed at petrol stations.
The new inflators, which arrived in Brunei last week, would replace the ‘old-fashioned red inflators,’ said Haji Mat Sarudin bin Haji Ismail, Head of Retail at Brunei Shell Marketing Co Sdn Bhd, at the Koperasi Perniagaan & Perusahaan Melayu Berhad’s petrol station in Menglait yesterday.
Citing safety concerns with the old inflators – which are no longer in use, he added that the 22 new units would be installed beginning next month.
“We are working closely with our contractors and retail station operators to implement the upgrade and replacement programme.
“Brunei Shell Marketing Co Sdn Bhd will provide a maintenance programme to ensure the inflators are used safely and effectively by the public.

“There will be guidelines in place to help motorists, and staff at the petrol station will be trained to render assistance,” he added.
The digital inflators will feature a preset meter similar to their analogue predecessor.
