Ministries conclude 12 nights of Dikir Maulud

A NUMBER of ministries and government agencies concluded the 12 nights of Dikir Maulud in conjunction with the birthday celebration of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) yesterday as a build-up towards today’s main Maulidur Rasul procession.

The Ministry of Education held its closing ceremony for the Dikir Maulud at the Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque.

Present at the ceremony was Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education; and Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education.

The event commenced with Maghrib prayers, which was followed by a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Minister of Education, and a recitation of the Dikir Syarafil Anam. The ceremony then continued with Isyak prayers, and a reading of the Doa Selamat.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Communications and its departments held its closing ceremony at the Surau of Brunei International Airport.

Present at the event as guest of honour was the Minister of Communications, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat. Also in attendance were Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications, heads of departments, senior officials as well as the staff of the ministry and its departments.

The event commenced with a mass Maghrib prayer followed by the recitation of Dikir and continued with a mass Isyak prayer. It concluded with the recitation of Dikir Marhaban.

The Ministry of Defence also held a ceremony marking the close of the nightly Dikir Maulud at its Surau in Bolkiah Garrison last night.

Present at the event was the Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit.

Also in attendance were Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Defence Executive Committee members, military and civilian directors, senior officers, officers and staff of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.

The ceremony began with recitation of verses from the Al-Quran followed by the Maghrib prayer and a religious talk on ‘Living by the Sunnah of the Rasulullah (pbuh)’ by Ustaz Mohd Adi Zaky bin Haji Metassim, officer from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The event continued with the Isyak prayer and ended with Dikir Marhaban led by Imam Shuib bin Abdullah, Imam of the Ministry of Defence Surau. The closing ceremony of Dikir Maulud was also held simultaneously in all Suraus of RBAF camps.

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday also held a Dikir Maulud Closing Ceremony in conjunction with the birthday celebration of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) at the RBPF Headquarters Prayer Hall, Gadong.

Present as the guest of honour was the Commissioner of the RBPF Dato Paduka Seri Haji Bahrin bin Mohd Noor, along with his spouse, Datin Hajah Rosminah binti Haji Abdul Hamid.

Also present were the Deputy Commissioner of the RBPF, Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Mohd Shah Al-Islam, as well as directors, commanding officers, officers of RBPF and invited guests.

The event began with a mass Maghrib prayer, led by APO SM 6924 Pengiran Haji Ludin bin Pengiran Haji Matahir, the Imam of the RBPF Headquarters Prayer Hall and was followed by a Sunnat Hajat prayer and Dikir.

A mass Isyak prayer was also carried out, followed by the Dikir Asyrakal and the Doa for the Dikir’s closing, including a Doa Selamat and ‘Doa Peliharakan Sultan and Brunei Darussalam’.
