THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) believes it will be able to solve several car break-in cases following the recent arrest of three local men.
In a statement, the RBPF said two of the suspects, aged 34 and 35, were detained after detectives from the CID District Headquarters in Brunei-Muara District raided a rented house in the capital.
During police interrogation, both of the suspects, who had been evading police detection since early this year, admitted to being involved with several car break-in cases within the Brunei-Muara District.
Their modus operandi was to smash car windows to commit theft.
Both suspects will be remanded until September 28 pending further police investigations.
The third suspect, a 29-year-old, was also arrested following a raid at a housing area in Tanah Jambu to aid in police investigations.
Following the arrest of the three suspects, the RBPF has successfully retrieved some of the stolen items such as a laptop, laptop adapter, backpacks, ATM cards, identification cards, a handphone, fishing gear, electronic gadgets and car accessories.
The car owners can visit the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Central Police Station during office hours to view and identify the seized items.
For more information, the BSB Central Police Station can be reached at 2242334.
All three suspects are facing charges punishable under Sections 379 and 427 of Penal Code Chapter 22.
